My Weekend is Booked

Fitting for a village known for its old-world charm, Mrs. Blackwell's Village Bookshop feels like stepping foot into a bookshop in a storybook. Blackwell's stocks a wide array of books, from arts and crafts to business, science to biographies.

Since opening in late 2020, Blackwell's has made headlines for having a queue of eager bookworm customers stretching out the front door, going to show the power of a good book is still going strong.

Summer is for Picnics

A picnic is one of the best ways to recharge over the weekend. Stop by The French Baker for authentic artisan pastries and bread baked in true French fashion. Then head over to Fresh Choice for the freshest deli salads and cold meats.

Greytown has many public green spaces to enjoy scattered throughout the village including Stella Bull Park, Soldier’s Memorial Park, including the fabulous playground. If you are planning to cycle the Woodside Rail Trail and picnic, include a visit to Blackwell & Sons, one of the world’s most beautiful bicycle stores on Main Street for all your cycling lifestyle essentials.

Alfresco Summer Dining

If a picnic isn’t your jam, all our wonderful eateries offer alfresco dining. Try The Offering for lunch in their dog-friendly courtyard or drinks on the iconic White Swan deck and watch the world go by.

Or how about grabbing a pint and experience the charm of one of New Zealand’s oldest hotel, The Greytown Hotel, then stay on and experience fine dining in their 1860 restaurant.

Alternatively, experience Pinocchio’s classic dishes and seasonal flavours in their sunny courtyard or the private relaxed courtyard at Cuckoo for a delicious stoned baked pizza. Whether it's fine dining you're after or just a quick bite for lunch, you are spoilt for choice.

Pamper yourself

Looking to pamper yourself this long weekend. Relax as you enter through the doors and prepare to indulge in the pampering you’ll get from advanced skincare and beauty treatments. Alluminus offer the full range; from waxing for both women and men, electrolysis, spray tanning, massage, eye, and body treatments, microdermabrasion, manicures, and pedicures, to a selection of facials.

We also highly recommend a visit to Shalari. Tina and her dedicated staff provide a personal bra fitting for each customer to remove the guesswork and help provide confidence in their everyday appearance.
