Rose & Smith was named in honour of “Rose & Smith Builders” who built the Tea House in 1923. Almost a century later, Paula Bevege, with the help of the Wairarapa Racing Club, restored the Tea House and Rose & Smith opened in 2018 as the Wairarapa’s premier Wedding & Events venue.

Rose & Smith’s Owner and Creative Director Paula Bevege is your personal event planner. Paula is one of New Zealand’s best events professionals with 25 years at the top of her game. Paula has brought everything she knows together to create this very special destination venue.
Their resident chef, Dale Keith has 30 years experience as a top chef and hospitality entrepreneur. You’ll know of Dale’s work most notably as General Manager of Vista Café in Oriental Bay, The White Swan in Greytown and creator of ‘The Chipperies’ in Mt Victoria, Thorndon. Dale also features at many local vineyards as a guest chef.
Dale brings not only his beautifully presented, locally sourced and incredibly exciting food; he also provides a deep wealth of food and wine knowledge.
