Gins with histories
The Greytown Distilling Company handcrafts double-distilled small-batch gins in a secret distillery somewhere near the centre of Greytown village, using pure Tararua mountain water and locally foraged botanicals. GDC gins are released in themed selections of three 375ml stainless steel cans. Individual 375ml and 750ml cans are also available. Each gin celebrates an aspect of Wairarapa’s pioneering past, recounting events and personalities that have shaped the region. Many of those stories involve incredible toil, bravery, sacrifice, and an unconventional approach to getting things done.
Tastings are available by appointment and on selected weekends (10am – 4pm) inside the Blackwell and Sons emporium at 110 Main Street, Greytown. Retail sales (for offsite consumption) are available in the emporium 10am – 4pm daily, or online at www.greytowngin.com
